Quik Stik Elite Tire Levers: The Ultimate Tire Changing Tool

There's a reason that these are one of our fastest-moving items in the market - they're not just good, they're damn good.

Unlike other tire levers, the Quik Stik Elite comes with a spoke hook, an innertube deflator, and a tire scoop - all in one. Knowing how to use this awesome tool can make or break your next trek, and may be the difference between getting stranded on the side of the road, and carrying on within minutes.

Step 1: Removing The Tire From the Frame.

This part's pretty easy - but first, make sure that you release your brakes! Most brake systems are pretty close to the front wheel, but depending on your model, this may not apply. Make sure to familiarize yourself with your bike.

Once the brakes have been disengaged, release the tire from the frame. A lot of bikes come with a quik-release lever that makes this easier, but some require a tool to loosen the bolts.

Step 2: Inserting The First Quik Stik.

Now it's important to get down on a knee - or whatever is comfortable (I've seen some people do this entire process standing, while others can do it without even removing their tire from the frame!).

When inserting the Quik Stik, use the tire scoop side (the flat edge_ to insert at an angle between the rim and the tire, separating the bead/connection. Make sure that the Quik Stik logo is facing you for better leverage.

Step 3: Position the first Quik Stik.

Firmly grasp both the tire lever and the tire, and push the lever downward towards the center of your tire. Use the spoke hook to clasp the tire lever onto the nearest spoke, to make the next step easier.

Some people only need one Quik Stik to take care of this process, however, it is recommended to use two (that's why we sell two-packs!)

Step 4: Leverage with the second Quik Stik.

Now that your first lever is in place, use the second one next to the first. Insert the lever at an angle, and wiggle it around until you feel that it has separated the tire from the rim.

Make sure that you get a good grip, as the connection between the tire and the frame is usually very strong.

Step 5: Separate.

With your hand firmly on the tire, pull the Quik Stik sharply away from the other hand, while making sure to keep it in place between the rim and the tire.

It's easy to lose your grip on the tire lever, that's why we have a serrated grip to make handling it easier.

Step 6: Follow-through.

Your tire is already lose at this point, so we don't need to have the first Quik Stik attached to the spoke anymore.

There are two ways to approach this step - you can simply follow through all the way across the tire in one swift stroke, or switch hands and repeat this process on both sides of your grip.

Finished!

Your tire is now separated from the rim!

Now, feel free to change your innertube, or replace your tire liner. Once you're done with that, simply follow the steps 1-6 in reverse to replace your tire, and re-attach it to your frame.
